Ubisoft
Opening new worlds for a gaming great
Background
Ubisoft, the legendary video game publishers, believe that a subscription model represents the future of gaming. With this in mind, they were keen to elevate their own service, Ubisoft +, and make it a distinctive brand in its own right.
DesignStudio was appointed to create an identity that could stand out in a crowded and competitive market, and inspire gamers to explore Ubisoft’s catalogue of new and classic titles.
Brand Strategy
Based around the sentiment ‘One world is never enough’, our brand strategy heroes Ubisoft’s vast collection of titles, and encourages gamers to engage with games and franchises beyond their usual favourites, for a richer gaming experience.
It’s a strategy that gets right to the heart of what Ubisoft stands for; fueling curiosity, excitement and discovery.
Brand Expression
Whilst still connected to the master brand, Ubisoft + now has its own distinctive flair and character.
Our spiral graphic, which nods to the master brand’s logo, creates immersive visuals that transport you through the different worlds available through Ubisoft +. Additionally, we created a bespoke generator in collaboration with Mata for the Ubisoft team to use in their daily content creation.
We expanded the colour palette beyond the monotone blue used previously, to create something more varied and vibrant. A suite of secondary colours complement the core blues and give the brand considerably more range and versatility.
The custom type is Ubisoft Plus sans, an evolution of Ubisoft sans, crafted in collaboration with Monotype.
Motion is used throughout to add depth, richness and impact. The spiral graphics swirling and unfolding to create a truly immersive experience.
A punchy and relatable tone of voice clearly positions Ubisoft + as both experts in their field and passionate gamers, in touch with all the things that matter to their audience.
